Just 'Garden ' Really .. Pretty Pic's ...

 Hello there folks ..
All quiet and peaceful here .. just as we like it.

Not a lot to tell you .. but here are some garden pic's .. lots of loveliness springing from the earth.

Just look at these Hellebore's .. I have just the one clump ..
but what a show this year ..
and they have been flowering since mid January.

They are just so pretty ... an amazing shade of pink.

And these creamy coloured ones are forming seed pods ...
anyone know if they are easy to grow from seed?

Hubby P managed to find me some garden chairs ..
not new (of course) ...
but with a touch of the Hubby P treatment they will be just great .. now all we need is some nice sun to sit in.
I was looking at new garden furniture on line ..
 Gosh what a price !
Sometimes I get quite a shock when I venture into the 'real' world and see just how much things cost.

In our simple world ..  it is one of working with cash money .. only buying what you have enough cash to buy ..
mostly secondhand/locally sourced ..
but good old fashioned face to face trading ..
buying locally ..
keeping the money circulating within our community.

I don't know that I would fair very well in 'the real world'.

My big pot of Tulips are on their way up ..

And the Forsythia is flowering .. pretty .. pretty.. sunshiny yellow.

I've done a bit of reclaiming vintage fabrics ..
its so nice to wash .. iron.. and stand the maiden outside in the sunshine to dry off.

This is a nice bit of Jonelle fabric ..
curtains that had seen better days as curtains .
But lots of good fabric still.
All 'come up lovely' as they say .. after a good wash.
I've tried a bit on eBay .. but I will probably sell most of it to my my crafty ladies at the boot sale.
I just love the blue colour.

Sweet little terracotta pots in the sunshine ..
just gearing up to flower their little socks off all summer.

That's all for now folks .. take care ..
Bye for now xx

  1. very pretty photos.........nice to see that Spring has "Sprung" in your neck of the woods.

  2. I have a forsythia bought for me as a present last year for my birthday , Its in bud at the moment ,I cant wait to see it flower xxx

  3. I totally agree with your way of living. I was brought up to only buy what you can afford .. meaning with actual money.
I'm not happy with the way things are in my house (parts of the house have never been properly decorated in the 12 yrs we have been here) but as long as my kids are happy and have what they need, the house can wait until we have the money to do wants need to be done.

  4. A nice flowery post. I love that Jonelle fabric. It's nice to recycle stuff. I have a load of tulips waiting to come out too.

  5. So happy I found your blog!! I've been sitting here reading several of your posts and enjoying myself. Better get busy but I will be back to read more. I love the way you write!

  6. It looks very Spring-ish out your way! Your Hellebores are lovely. Mine have self-seeded themselves all around the immediate area but I haven't actually tried to gather seeds and try to grow them. I have one baby one with one leaf and one bloom! It looks a bit odd. Take care, GM

  7. Lovely garden pictures, gives me something to dream about. We had another 20 cm of snow last night, that makes 50 cm since thursday. Want Spring too! Oh well, patience will be rewarded in the end. I popped in a garden centre last week for a friends present. Garden furniture was 30 % off so l had a quick peep. Good grief!! 7995,- for the cheapest table and chairs! That's Norwegian kroners, probably about 700 pounds. Wish you a lovely Easter week, with lots of sunshine and spring in the air. Pam

  8. I suppose you are a month ahead of us here in the middle of Norway. In the South they've had a lot of snow lately. It's so nice to see all the flowers. I have so far seen only coltsfoot and an anemone.. Lovely pics..
